Rostov NPP socially oriented work is directed not only the to plant employees and corporate projects and programs, but also to Volgodonsk city upon the whole.

About a billion rubles is spent on construction of population social defense institutions. These are decades kilometers of gas, electricity and water pipe lines, shower canalizations, auto roads, highway lightning, new trolley-bus lines, a school in B-9 compartment, school stadiums and sports sites, children playing yards, etc. Besides, at the expense of the nuclear plant, the health service institutions were opened in the district: the second stage of the medical settlement children city hospital, medical emergency station, department of General Medical Practice, diagnostic centre, neurology department of the surgeon bulk, a department of dentist clinic service, tomograph equipment and x-ray machine purchase. Dwellings are constructed and being constructed.

• “Green Belt of Atomic City” action. In 2010, 200 trees, 30 bushes, over 3000 flower roots were planted.

Over 10 years the NPP cooperates with Volgodonsk deanery of ROC Rostov-On-Don eparchy. Alexander Palamarchuk, the plant director, is sure that “Russian great power statehood is not only in its military power, but also in its power capacity. It was founded and must be kept and multiplied in our culture values, traditions and ancestors’ heredity.” With the NPP assistance, St. Nicholas Church in Tsymlyansk, adjacent with Volgodonsk, the church of St. Fedor Ushakov and the monument to the admiral, bells for the unique campanile are bought, a big church of the capacity of more than 1,000 hearers is being built, the Church of Christmas with a lower church (already functioning), to Seraphim of Sarov, nuclear power industry patron, honor, joint events, aimed at development of orthodox traditions and Volgodonsk citizens spiritual upbringing, are held.
