Nuclear icebreaker Arktika is heading to Murmansk
22 September, 2020 – On September 22, Arktika, the lead universal nuclear-powered icebreaker, departed from the completion embankment of the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg towards the Murmansk sea port. The passage is planned to take about two weeks. During this time, the nuclear icebreaker will be tested in ice conditions.

ROSATOM manufactures the first full refueling batch of MOX fuel for BN-800 fast reactor
The Mining and Chemical Combine in Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk region (East Siberia) has manufactured the first full reload batch of fresh uranium-plutonium MOX fuel for BN-800 fast reactor, operated at Beloyarsk NPP. The 169 fuel assemblies have been accepted by Rosenergoatom, the operator of Russian NPPs, and its authorized representative VPO ZAES, which has confirmed the consignment is ready for shipment.

Internal containment is one of the critical components of power unit's safety systems, which prevent release of radioactive materials to the environment.
