The Smolensk NPP: power №1 plugged in

Power unit №1 of the Smolensk NPP was restarted after works on thermal and mechanical equipment on July 12 at 21:00. Power unit went on nominal rated capacity on July 14.

There are three power units in work at the moment at the Smolensk NPP. The total capacity is 3021 megawatts. There are no vemarks to the equipments’ work.

The Smolensk NPP power units have developed 651 million Kilowatt hours of electricity for 14 days in July. It has been produced 11 billion 966 million Kilowatt hours of electricity since the beginning of the year, over the plan - 633 million Kilowatt hours.

The radiation background is unchanged and corresponds to natural values on an industrial platform of the Smolensk nuclear power plant and the surrounding territory.

The Smolensk nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The SNPP annually issues on the average about 20 billion kilowatts hours of the electric power into country power supply system, that constitutes about 13% of the energy, developed in «Rosenergoatom Concern», and more than 80% of the Smolensk region energy, developed by the power entities.
