Andrey Yuvenalievich Petrov was born in Angarsk, Irkutsk region, in 1963.

In 1985 he graduated the “Thermal Power Plants” Department of Ivanovo Power Engineering Institute.

In 1985-1992 he was the equipment inspector of the turbine department, the senior engineer for turbine operation, the shift manager of the turbine department of Khmelnitsky NPP of the Ministry of Atomic Energy of USSR (Neteshin, Khmelnitsky region).

In 1992-1999 he was shift manager at Balakovo NPP of the Ministry of Atomic Energy of Russia (Balakovo).

In 1992-2006 he was the deputy chief engineer for operation, the chief engineer of Volgodonsk NPP.

In 2006 he was appointed as the Deputy Director General of “Rosenergoatom” Concern-the Director of Smolensk NPP.
