Environment protection measures
In order to reduce its negative effects on the environment, Kursk NPP carries out ecological programs and spends on them almost 10mln RUR a year.
The key programs are:
- building of water treatment systems;
- installing local water treatment works in the masout storage facility of the reserve boiler;
- building a chemical reagent storage facility in the territory of the reserve boiler;
- improving the ecological state of the banks of Seim River;
- improving the work of the hydro-protection system of the cooling pond and preventing filtration losses.
