The Smolensk NPP power unit №1 was disconnected from the network on July 6 at 16:44 by the pre-filed application agreed with the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom" and the system operator. Stop in work of the power unit is connected with repair works on thermal and mechanical equipment.

There are no violations of limits and conditions of safe operation. The radiation background is unchanged and corresponds to natural values on an industrial platform of the Smolensk nuclear power plant and the surrounding territory.

There are two power units operating at the Smolensk NPP at the moment. Their total capacity is 1759 megawatts.

The Smolensk NPP power units have developed 240 million kilowatt hours of electricity for 6 days in July, exceeding the planned target on 8 million kilowatt hours. Since the beginning of the year it has been produced 12 billion 188 million kilowatt hours of electricity, over the plan - 686 million kilowatt hours.

The Smolensk nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The SNPP annually issues on the average about 20 billion kilowatts hours of the electric power into country power supply system, that constitutes about 13% of the energy, developed in «Rosenergoatom Concern», and more than 80% of the Smolensk region energy, developed by the power entities.
