"Every year we see that the professionalism of the Smolensk NPP is growing in all areas of the integrated management system: quality, environment, occupational safety and health are constantly improving, it corresponds to the basic requirements of International and Russian standards," - said in the conclusion of the recertification audit of the Smolensk NPP the Head of the Certification Association "Russian Register" auditors group Gennady Guts.

From April 6 to April 10 independent experts attended workshops and units of the Smolensk NPP. They analyzed the technical documentation, conducted interviews with employees, managers, staff evaluated the level of tasks understanding to improve the integrated management system.

The auditors noted at the final meeting that the integrated management system of the Smolensk NPP complies with international standards. The work results appeared in a report, which gives recommendations to the certification body "Russian Register" to issue the Smolensk NPP requirement compliance certificates ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001: 2004, OHSAS 18001: 2007, subject to the rules of the IAEA GS-R-3 "Management System for Facilities and Activities" for a new three-year term.

The Smolensk nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The SNPP annually issues on the average about 20 billion kilowatts hours of the electric power into country power supply system, that constitutes about 13% of the energy, developed in «Rosenergoatom Concern», and more than 80% of the Smolensk region energy, developed by the power entities.
