Smolensk NPP: the plan for January has been fulfilled ahead of schedule

On January 30, 2011 Smolensk NPP fulfilled the monthly plan having generated 1 bln 435 mln kWh of electric power. The output in access of the plan has amounted to 53 mln kWh.

At present Smolensk NPP operates power units Nos. 2 and 3. The total capacity is 2,065 megawatt. There are no deviations in equipment operation.

Power unit No. 1 is under scheduled overhaul, all works are carried out in accordance with the schedule. The repair involves replacement of fuel channels, special systems, equipment with expired lifetime, enforcement of engineering structures of the premises.

The radiation background at Smolensk NPP industrial site and in the adjacent territory is not changed and corresponds to the natural environmental values.

Smolensk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. Every year SNPP supplies to the country electric power system at the average about 20 bln kilowatt-hours of electric power equal to almost 13% of power generated in Rosenergoatom Concern and to more than 80% of that generated by the power plants of Smolensk region.
