The Novovoronezhskaya nuclear power plant: the power unit No. 4 is switched on into a network

On October 25, 2013 at 18:17 TG-12 turbogenerator was included to the network, on October 26, 2013 the turbogenerator of TG-11 of the power unit No. 4 of the Novovoronezhskaya nuclear power plant at 18:48 was included to the network, after completion of scheduled preventive maintenance and an overload of nuclear fuel.

In the period of PPR on the power unit No. 4 average repair of reactor installation was executed. Capital and running repair of steam generators, the main circulation pulsers was made. Control of metal of the equipment of reactor pipelines and turbine departments was exercised.

Thanks to accurate planning, control, effective work of maintenance force and use of production system methods «Rosatom», staff of the Novovoronezhskaya nuclear power plant it was succeeded to reduce scheduled preventive maintenance term from planned 37 to 35 calendar days.

Now power units No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 of the Novovoronezhskaya nuclear power plant work in the set mode. There are no violations of power units limits and conditions of safe operation.

The radiation background at the station and the adjacent territory is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units and doesn't exceed natural background values, characteristic for the Central European part of Russia.

The Novovoronezhskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located on the bank of the Don River in 42 km to the south of Voronezh. It is the Russia's first nuclear power plant with VVER reactors (water-to-water power reactors of case type with regular water under pressure). Each of five reactors of station is head – a prototype of serial power reactors: the power unit No. 1 with the VVER-210 reactor, the power unit No. 2 with the VVER-365 reactor, No. No. 3, 4 power units with VVER-440 reactors, the power unit No. 5 with the VVER-1000 reactor. The first power unit was launched in 1964, the second – in the 1969, third – in the 1971, fourth – the 1972, fifth – 1979.

There are three power units (power units (No No 1, 2 we're stopped in 1984 and 1990 years respectively) on work at the moment.

Current information about a radiation situation near the nuclear power plant in Russia and other objects of the nuclear industry is provided on a site www.russianatom.ru.
