The comprehensive tests of three boilers of auxiliary standby boiler units at the construction site of the fourth stage of the Novovoronezh NPP (customer is the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom", the general designer and general contractor is the JSC "AEP", Moscow) successfully passed after completion of commissioning works.

The Lead Engineer of the plant support systems Department Sergei Shevchenko said that "There is one boiler working at the moment, 31 object on the construction site is connected to the heating system of the Auxiliary standby boiler (ASB). Its power is enough for us because of the nowadays weather conditions. In fact, three hot water boilers are ready, and it gives full power reserve for winter consumption."

Water boilers were made by "Pskov boiler plant." Process control is completely automated and performed from the automated workplace (AW) by the boilers controller.

Auxiliary standby operating mode on the boiler was introduced in November 2013. Its equipment is ready for technical examination now. The next step is application for registration of boilers to the supervisory authority.

The JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom", as the owner-developer, has been doing the construction of two power units of the new generation ath the Novovoronezh NPP beyond the project "NPP-2006" since June 2007. The construction is being done in accordance with the program of activities of the Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom". It was approved by the RF Government by a Decree №705 dated September 20, 2008. The construction is funded by property contribution and equity of the "Rosenergoatom Concern". The reactors VVER-1200 will be operating at the new power units of the NV NPP.

Project VVER-1200 complies with all local and international safety requirements. Its main feature is the improvement of the security system, which provides a significant advantage for the project on the characteristics of the security level. The general contractor for the construction of new power units is the JSC "AEP", general designer of the reactor plant is the JSC "OKB Hydraulic".
