Launch works started in the turbine building of the power unit №6 at the Novovoronezh NPP (customer is the JSC «Concern Rosenergoatom», the general designer and general contractor is JSC «AEP», Moscow).

They began with the scroll bar on the «idle» on five motors. Two of them will be involved in the work of chemically demineralized water and three will be involved in the turbine building drainage system. Russian manufacturer of electric motors is the company "Ena" (Shchelkovo). They are managed by the standard scheme with block remote control. Commissioning works are carried out by the specialists of the Novovoronezh branch «Atomtechenergo» in cooperation with the operational staff of the turbine plant №6 at the Novovoronezh NPP. Tested units will participate in stage of cold-hot operational testing of the reactor, which is scheduled for May this year.

Turbine shop of the power unit №6 entered a phase of equipment testing. Now the main task of its staff is fulfillment of the established operating procedures, quality crawl, inspection of equipment with individual tests.

The power unit №6 of the Novovoronezh NPP launch is scheduled for 2015.

The JSC «Concern Rosenergoatom» as the owner-developer is proceeding construction of two power units of the new generation at the Novovoronezh NPP beyond the project «NPP-2006" since June 2007. Construction is done in accordance with the program of activity of the Atomic Energy Corporation «Rosatom». It was approved by the RF Government Decree №705 dated September 20, 2008. Construction is funded by property contribution and equity of the «Rosenergoatom». The reactor facilities VVER-1200 will operate at the new units of the NVNPP.

The project VVER-1200 complies with all local and international safety requirements. Its main feature is the improvement of the security system, which provides a significant advantage of the project on the characteristics of security level. The general contractor for construction of the new power units is the JSC «AEP», general designer of the reactor plant is the JSC «OKB Hydraulic».
