Three hundred "fighters" from student construction teams of 9 Russian regions have completed their summer working shift at the construction site of the 1st launch complex at the Novovoronezh under the "Atoms for Peace in 2014".

The work was supported by the State Corporation "Rosatom", the Government of the Voronezh region and youth public organization "Russian Student Groups."

Children from two of the most productive and effective student construction teams "D.E.M.S." (Izhevsk State Technical University named after Kalashnikov) and "Energetic" (Obninsk Institute of Nuclear Power NIYaU "MiFi") visited the Novovoronezh NPP power units on another day, when the National Student construction had finished its work.

Work of future graduates, among whom were representatives of construction, technical and specialized universities, has been claimed to work on the cabling, installation of equipment and utilities, concrete works, finishing and landscaping of the first start-up complex. "Me and my friends are the future of energy. Here we got invaluable experience - so appreciated part in the National Student construction, soldier of builders team "Energetic" Alex Vasilenko. - A visit to the functioning nuclear power plant caused a delight. It's one thing to read books, and quite another to see the work of the staff and equipment. This adds enthusiasm to comprehend the basics of our future profession. And the work at the construction site of the new unit, only strengthened us in the right choice of our professional way."

First student teams appeared on the construction of the new Novovoronezh power units in 2011. Then, three years ago, construction was given the status of "zonal".

Since June 2007, the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom" as the owner-developer has had the construction of two units of new generation beyond the Novovoronezh project "NPP-2006". Construction is being done in accordance with the program of activities of the State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom". It was approved by the RF Government Decree №705 20 September 2008. Construction is funded by property contribution and equity Rosenergoatom. On a new nuclear power plant WWER-1200 reacot was applied. New project complies with all local and international safety requirements. Its main distinguishing feature is to improve the security system, which provides a significant advantage on the characteristics of the project-level security. The general contractor for construction of new power units is JSC "AEP", chief designer of the reactor plant is JSC "OKB Hydraulic".
