The Novovoronezh NPP received the Victory Banner.

The official symbol of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany was officially handed over to the nuclear industry of the city council of war and labor veterans. An exact copy of the relics was made on the initiative of the NovNPP for the 70th anniversary of the victory for the education of patriotism and union labor in the city collectives.

- To start a commemorative baton is a great honor for our company. Banner is a symbol of our victory, a symbol of our people resistance. The station will save it with honor and  will continue to work on patriotic education and confirm the results of this honor - said in his response, the Deputy Director of the NV NPP Nikolay Netyaga.

Victory Banner is an assault flag of the 150th Infantry Division and was put up on May 1, 1945 over the Reichstag in Berlin by soldiers Mikhail Yegorov and Meliton Kantariya. The Novovoronezh copy will be passing, she will visit all the major enterprises of the city, and May 8, 2015 banner will be transferred to permanent storage in the museum of the NovNPP.

Average values of a radiation background in settlements of a 30-km zone round the Novovoronezhskaya nuclear power plant corresponded to level of natural background values, characteristic for the Central European Part of Russia.

The Novovoronezhskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located on the bank of the Don River in 42 km to the south of Voronezh. It is the Russia's first nuclear power plant with VVER reactors (water-to-water power reactors of case type with regular water under pressure). Each of five reactors of station is head – a prototype of serial power reactors: the power unit No. 1 with the VVER-210 reactor, the power unit No. 2 with the VVER-365 reactor, No. No. 3, 4 power units with VVER-440 reactors, the power unit No. 5 with the VVER-1000 reactor. The first power unit was launched in 1964, the second – in the 1969, third – in the 1971, fourth – the 1972, fifth – 1979.

There are three power units (power units (No No 1, 2 we're stopped in 1984 and 1990 years respectively) on work at the moment.
