The Novovoronezh NPP preparing for OSART Mission

In preparation for the mission a seminar on the subject "Maintenance and repair" started at the Novovoronezh NPP.

The OSART mission happens in the life of any station only once. Its main objective is improving of operational safety of nuclear stations, as well as the exchange of information and experience among IAEA experts and their partners, station experts.

The workshop under the guidance of an expert IAEA Vayshnisa Povilas (Lithuania) is attended by the heads and specialists of repair units of the NPP.

The visit of the IAEA began on 25 August with an induction lecture about labor protection, radiation and fire safety, internal labor regulations and enterprise mode.

After a discussion of the program participants have identified the scope, methods and schedule of work.

A detailed discussion of the preliminary information package in the direction of "Repair": an analysis of the distinctive features of the prophylactic and preventive maintenance, planning and carrying out of preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance - is also in the plans of the expert.

In addition, Vayshnis Povilas will visit repair shops and warehouses UPTK, visit the audience for the training of maintenance personnel in the training section.

The visit result would be the protocol, which will sum-up the workshop results and formulate the tasks that will help to correct the "Preparations for the OSART mission at the Novovoronezh NPP» in "Maintenance and repair".

The work of the OSART team will start in November 2015 at the Novovoronezh NPP.

The Novovoronezhskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located on the bank of the Don River in 42 km to the south of Voronezh. It is the Russia's first nuclear power plant with VVER reactors (water-to-water power reactors of case type with regular water under pressure). Each of five reactors of station is head – a prototype of serial power reactors: the power unit No. 1 with the VVER-210 reactor, the power unit No. 2 with the VVER-365 reactor, No. No. 3, 4 power units with VVER-440 reactors, the power unit No. 5 with the VVER-1000 reactor. The first power unit was launched in 1964, the second – in the 1969, third – in the 1971, fourth – the 1972, fifth – 1979. There are three power units (power units (No No 1, 2 we're stopped in 1984 and 1990 years respectively) in work at the moment.
