Installation of the transport lock (case weight – about 230 tons, length – more than 12 meters, diameter – about 10 meters) was carried out by specialists of JSC “Energospetsmontazh” in several stages.

At first by means of a short arrow (60 meters) of the DEMAG crane, increasing load-carrying capacity, the lock was established on the special cart and moved along way of the transport portal of the reactor building.

Then in internal and external protective covers of the reactor building the lock was established in a project provision. Transport lock is the last large-size heavy equipment, which was mounted in the reactor building of the power unit No. 1. Its installation structurally finishes the reactor building.

“Lock installation in the project provision allows to start the last transaction – a tension of pretension system. This system consists of especially strong metal cables. They repeatedly strengthen durability of an internal protective cover”,  – Peter Milokostov, the leading departmental engineer of warm installation works of the Novovoronezkshaya branch of JSC “AEP” told about the following stage of works.

The DEMAG crane which was involved in this technological transaction, after an arrow reconfiguration into project condition (with its length – 110 meters) works at installation of the protective cover of the power unit No. 2 under construction.
