Novovoronezh sportsmen honorably appeared in the championship of Central Federal District and the championship of Moscow city in kiokusinkai karate that was held in the beginning of March 2011, in Moscow.

Yury Kalyapin became the winner among men in lightweight championship. Besides, Novovoronezh citizens won two bronze medals: master of sports of the Russian Federation Yury Odinokikh took the third prize in the heavyweight category, and Alexey Parshin became a bronze winner in the heavyweight category among the juniors (the age of 16-17).

All the sportsmen are training on the base of the club “Energetik”. Their participation in CFD championship became possible due to Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC and Novovoronezh NPP financial support.
