Employee of Novovoronezh NPP elected as Head of Novovoronezh

An organizational meeting of Novovoronezh city Duma of 6-th convocation was held on September 29, 2015.
 
At the first meeting Nikolai Netyaga was elected the Head of the city Novovoronezh, Chairman of the City Duma, Deputy Director of the Novovoronezh NPP, Deputy Head - Mikhail Ivanov, Engineer of Maintenance Department of the NV NPP.

New Head was supported by 20 deputies out of 21 in the secret ballot at the meeting.

Head of Information and Public Relations Centre of the NPP Yuri Pegusov, who headed the Duma of last convocation, said: "Staff rotation should exist in government, the speaker is a generator of ideas, creative personality. Past Duma, it seems to me, was special because of a distinct interaction, but we must move forward to avoid stagnation".Yuri Pegusov described his successor  as "competent economist (graduated from the economic faculty of the Voronezh State University with a degree in "Economics and Sociology for Labour"), who knows how to build teams and to think in scale".

Netyaga Nicholay was born in 1973. He graduated from Voronezh State University in 1995 and the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation. He served as Deputy Director for Economics and Finance at the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom" "Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant".

The Duma elections were held on September 13 in Novovoronezh. As a result, 11 out of 24 seats went to representatives of Deputies of the Novovoronezh NPP. Five of them have already worked in the City Duma of the previous convocation.

The Novovoronezh nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located on the bank of the Don River in 42 km to the south of Voronezh. It is the Russia's first nuclear power plant with VVER reactors (water-to-water power reactors of case type with regular water under pressure). Each of five reactors of the station can be a main one – a prototype of serial power reactors: the power unit No. 1 with the VVER-210 reactor, the power unit No. 2 with the VVER-365 reactor, the No. 3, 4 power units with the VVER-440 reactors, the power unit No. 5 with the VVER-1000 reactor. The first power unit was launched in 1964, the second – in 1969, third – in 1971, fourth – 1972, fifth – 1979. There are three power units (power units No.1, 2 were stopped in 1984 and 1990 respectively) in work at the moment.

Average values of radiation background correspond to level of natural background values in the Central European Part of Russia in settlements of a 30-km zone round the Novovoronezhskaya nuclear power plant.
