The construction of the heavy-duty outer reactor containment has been completed at the Leningrad NPP’s 2nd VVER-1200 power block
The construction of one of the most important power block localization safety systems – the outer reactor containment for the 2nd VVER-1200 power block – has been completed at the Leningrad NPP. The team has concreted its last layer and reached the final point of +70.200 meters.

The share of nuclear power plants in the power balance of Russia had increased up to 19.04% in 2019 (compared to 18.7% in 2018). The share of nuclear power plants in the Unified Energy System of Russia, excluding the output of the Bilibino NPP, which operates in an isolated environment, has reached the value of 19.3% (against 19.1% in 2018).
