The Kursk NPP workers became the top three in the corporate competition within the First All-Russia week of labor protection

The Kursk NPP workers adequately presented the company at the final stage of the competition of the "Rosenergoatom" Concern within the First All-Russia week of labor protection, held in Sochi. Electrical engineer of the electric shop Alexander Morozov took first place among engineers and technical workers, electrician for electrical maintenance Eugene Ozhereliev became the third among the workers.

The First All-Russian Week of labor protection was initiated by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development of Russia and has become a global discussion forum dedicated to the latest trends and prospects of development activities in the field of occupational safety, Occupational safety and health protection of workers. The range of industry-specific and cross-industry events included a corporate competition of the Concern "Rosenergoatom" on the knowledge of the rules of occupational safety among employees of the concern, first held in this format.

"The main goal of the contest is to enable employees to show their knowledge of the rules and safety standards, to show realize themselves and that will help in future their professional and career development, - said the Head of the Labour Protection Department at the Kursk NPP Igor Vipers. - The "Rosenergoatom" is constantly improving the system of labor protection on their enterprises to meet modern safety requirements. This helps to prevent accidents at work and as a consequence it helps preservation of life and health of workers ".


For Alexander Morozov and Eugene Ozhereleva successful participation in the prestigious competition of the Concern "Rosenergoatom" is not the first experience. They have become the best in the different years, so the Kursk NPP was the venue for corporate competition on labor protection involving all branches of the concern.

A solid work experience in one of the main technological workshops of the nuclear plant where he works for more than 20 years helps Alexander Morozov to win in such contests. A very good experience of the Commissioner for health and safety in his unit, deep knowledge of the rules and the ability to apply them in the workplace also contributes to the success.

Eugene Ozhereliev has been working in the electrical department of the Kursk NPP since 2009, but despite the small experience, he shows himself very well in the field of labor protection: he became the first in the competition of the Concern "Rosenergoatom" in 2013. He is a technically competent responsible specialist who knows the equipment, having all the prospects in his professional development.

The Kursk NPP has power units №№ 1, 3, 4 in work at the moment. They work with capacity, established by the dispatch schedule. The power unit №2 is in planned maintenance.

The radiation background is at level, that corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed natural background values, at the Kursk NPP and in the area of its location.

The Kursk NPP, as part of the «Rosenergoatom Concern», is included into the electricity division of the State Corporation "Rosatom". The station is located 40 km south-west of the city Kursk on the left bank of Seym. The NPP has four operating units with RBMK RBMK-1000 reactors with total capacity of 4 million KW of electricity. Power units were connected to the unified energy system of the country in 1976, 1979, 1983 and 1985. All existing power units had technical modernization in 1994-2009. The Kursk NPP is the largest power generating source in the Central Russian Chernozem.
