On August 1, 2013, according to the schedule, the power unit No. 4 of the Kurskaya nuclear power plant will be removed in planned overhaul.  

On the power unit regular procedural inspections will be made and the standard amount of overhaul of the equipment will be executed.

The program of repair includes works on a replacement of technological channels, prolongation of useful lives of the equipment of the power unit, replacement of a stator of a turbogenerator No. 7.

Now power units No. No. 1, 4 of the Kurskaya nuclear power plant are in work. They work at the capacity established by the dispatching schedule. No. No. 2, 3 power units are in the planned repair. 

 The radiation background on the Kurskaya nuclear power plant and around its arrangement is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units, and doesn't exceed natural background values.
