In the Public Information Centre of Kursk NPP heads and experts of the NPP have met the representatives of the Kursk branch of public organization “Union of women of Russia”. The event was held on May 18, within the framework of the education and social policy conference with participation of the heads of more than 20 districts of the Kursk Region and mass media. 

The meeting was welcomed by Director of the Kursk NPP Nikolay Sorokin. He offered to attention of the participants a presentation devoted to the aspects of safety of the Kursk NPP. The visitors of the Public Information Centre get acquainted with the history of atomic engineering development, Kursk NPP and the city of atomic scientist named after Kurchatov in Center museum exposition of the exhibition. Here the participants of the conference could see the openness of the nuclear branch and learn a lot of helpful information on the safe and reliable work of the largest power enterprise in the Central Chernozem region - Kursk NPP. 

At present Kursk NPP operates power units Nos. 1, 3 and 4. They work at the capacity set by the dispatch schedule. Power unit No. 2 is under scheduled major repair.

The radiation background at Kursk NPP and in the adjacent territory corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
