Kursk NPP: since June 15 power unit No. 4 will be shut down for midlife scheduled preventive repair
On June 15, 2011, power unit No. 4 of Kursk NPP will be shut down for midlife scheduled preventive repair.
The maintenance is planned to be performed within 108 days. Its program implies performance of traditional preventive works, provided by the year schedule, and the works on prolongation of the power unit operation resource.
As of June 14 Kursk NPP operates power units Nos. 1, 3 and 4. The actual capacity corresponds to the dispatch schedule. Power unit No. 2 has been under scheduled major repair since April 22. The radiation background at Kursk NPP industrial site corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural background values.
