Kursk NPP: power unit No. 1 has been shut down for repair
On February 9, 2011 at 08:07 in accordance with the application filed, power unit No. 1 was shut down for repairs caused due to the necessity of gasket replacement on the equipment in unoccupied area.
The power unit shut down was conducted in accordance with the technological requirements for safe operation.
At present, Kursk NPP power units Nos. 2, 3, 4 are in operation. They are operated with capacity corresponding to the dispatch schedule.
The radiation background at Kursk NPP and in the area of its location corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
