Kursk NPP: power unit No. 1 has been connected to the grid
On January 15, 2011 power unit No. 1 of Kursk NPP was connected to the grid upon completion of repair which had been carried out since February 9 of the current year.
The unit was put into operation in accordance with process regulations for safe operation.
At present Kursk NPP operates four power units at capacity set by the dispatch schedule. No violations of limit and conditions of Kursk NPP power units safe operation have been registered.
The radiation background at the plant and in the adjacent territory corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural background environmental values.
