Kursk NPP: on April 22 Power Unit No.2 will be Shutdown Due for the Scheduled Major Overhaul Repair

On April 22, 2011 power unit No.2 of Kursk NPP will be shutdown for the scheduled major overhaul repair of 100 days long.

The works, aimed at provision of the power unit further reliable operation, are planned to be accomplished within this period. Among them there is operation control, repair and the equipment replacement, and the works on modernization.

On April 21, Kursk NPP operates power units Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4. They are operated at nominal capacity due to the dispatch schedule.

The radiation background at the nuclear plant and in the adjacent territory corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
