On January 27, 2011, in the Public Information centre of Kursk NPP there was a meeting of the nuclear power plant administration with representatives of legislative and executive authorities, educational establishments of Kurchatov district on Expanding Cooperation in Occupational Guidance dedicated to the closing of the Teacher’s Year.

That day representatives of all educational establishments of Kurchatov district gathered in PIC: teachers of secondary schools, day-care assistants, extended education teachers, as well as the teachers of colleges.

Deputy Chief Engineer of the plant Vyacheslav Fedyukin welcomed those present on behalf of Kursk NPP. He told the teachers about the nuclear branch development program, mentioned the great role the teacher in personality formation, choice of the future profession by the pupils many of which now study in specialized universities of the nuclear power industry.

“On behalf of Kursk NPP administration and staff I’d like to express our deep gratitude to you”, Vyacheslav Fedyukin addressed the teachers. “You are the first source of manpower for our enterprise, and we can’t imagine our present life without hard and selfless work of a teacher”. 

The words of gratitude were supported by action: Kurchatov teachers were given a gift certificate from Kursk NPP for a visit to Kursk regional областного Drama Theatre.

Head of Kurchatov District Alexander Yarygin mentioned in his welcoming address: “Over 400 teachers are working today in the educational system of Kurchatov district. Say the least of it, a huge intellectual potential is concentrated in our educational establishments. Teachers are the embodiment of intelligence, morality and true culture. Thanks to your efforts the modern school lives and develops and the best traditions of our education are preserved. Cooperation with Kursk NPP open up new vistas, sets clearer tasks for the teachers in terms of occupational guidance of the pupils”.

Summarizing the Teacher’s Year results, Head of the district awarded just rewards and valuable presents to the employees of educational establishments. 

The teachers in their turn made no disguise of feelings. Thus, Alla Sedyakina, a teacher of Afanasyevskaya secondary school, who was awarded the commemorative medal “For Goodness and Mercy” (a mother of three grown-children, she had recently adopted another two children), said:

“The profession of a teacher is the most noble and thanksworthy in the world.  The are no “own” and “others’” children for a teacher: all boys and girls are near and dear. And this is forever”. 

Chairman of the Representative Assembly of Kurchatov district Nikolay Vorobin, Secretary of the Public Chamber of Kursk region Nikolay Kiselyev, Head of the district education administration Tatyana Bogoderova and others spoke at the meeting.

Cooperation between administration of Kurchatov district and Kursk NPP, in the territory of which it is located, is based on strategic partnership and mutual understanding. Events like this is aimed at development both the nuclear power plant and the district.
