On April 13, 2011 in Kurchatov city a selective tour of Russian participants of NuclearKids-2011 International Children Creative Project, which is to contribute to the creation and consolidation of friendship relations between the children of Russian and foreign countries nuclear plants employees, develop new traditions of children’s creativity, widen their outlook, and as well popularize nuclear branch with the growing generation, was held. Autonomous Nonprofit Organization Information Centre of the Nuclear Branch is the project organizer due to the order of Rosatom State Corporation on Nuclear Power.

In Kurchatov city the selective tour was organized in the form of an open casting. 12 children of Kursk nuclear plant workers, having prepared for the appearance artistic performances of different genres: vocal, chorus singing, choreographic sketch, a capella performance, took part in it. The majority of the vocalic performances were executed in jazz arrangement, which was also noted by the jury. Moreover, apart from the demonstration of their artistic abilities, the children had to do their best in colloquial genre as well, when answering sharp, detailed questions of the jury members.

Summarizing the casting results, Film Director Kirill Kuzin said: “Today you have shown us your talents and abilities, and I am sure you can show much more. It is nice to note that the children of Kurchatov atomists are creatively gifted, interesting and unordinary personalities. The fact that jazz, which is not a kind of music for everyone, is popular with the young generation, pleasantly amazed: in this very genre the majority of your performances were made. For the future, boys are also desirable to take part in the project, and not only singing, but also dancing ones. Still, the representatives of the female half of humanity are leading. Nevertheless, I will again underline the high level of the participants’ performing skills, excellent preparation, and if we add to it patience and hardworking, the approaching preparation work for the musical will be done for all the 100%!”

The student of secondary school No. 5 Darya Zvyagintseva expressed the common opinion of all the selective tour participants: “All of us, the cast participants, and, I hope, the unique international project NucKid, were fantastically lucky today: we were heard by a competent jury, who gave their preliminary marks, made just remarks and gave us valuable advice. I am sure that this day will help us much in the future, when we all will meet at the project. I want to express wide gratefulness to Rosatom State Corporation, which at a run of many years gives the children the opportunity of making a peace of art with their own hands and, quite possibly, become a real star.”

The jury did not voice the winners due to the results of the selective tour, but the happy owners of the “pass” to NucKids project will be already able to see their last names on April 18, at the official website www.Nuckids.ru.

After the selective tours of the first stage are over, the second, the concluding one, will be held in Moscow. And due to its results the entry list of the third creative league within the frameworks of NucKids project, which is going to be organized in July-August of 2011, will be known. The staging of a musical, the first night of which will take place on the leading concert stages of Russia and other countries, will become the result of the children from different countries cooperative labour.
