Kursk NPP: a corporate meeting devoted to housing problems has been held

On June 1, 2011 a corporate meeting on the topic “Definition of Nuclear Industry Mortgage Company CJSC prior activity branches” was held in Kursk NPP public information centre in connection with the introduction of new standards of housing provision to nuclear branch workers.

Heads of the central office and regional representative offices (at nuclear plants) of NIMC (Nuclear Industry Mortgage Company) CJSC, representatives of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, Kursk NPP administration and trade union took part in the work of the meeting, opened by Director of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC Department of Labor Organization, Wages and Social Guarantees Elena Andreykina.

According to Elena Andreykina, the corporate social program of housing provision to Rosatom State Corporation workers is one of the main streams of the branch social policy. “The accepted regulations for rendering assistance to the employees of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC in purchasing permanent accommodation  proves the fact that social policy will always be a prior one for the nuclear branch on the whole”, she underlined.

The project of program of housing provision to Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC and improvement of their housing conditions for the period of 2011-2015 and also the plans for construction of accommodation in the places of nuclear plants location were announced by NIMC CJSC General Director Eduard Vidyaev. The essence of the innovation is that now everyone enlisted on the queue – the mortgage program participant – will receive not a loan, as it was earlier, but the compensation of the part of the expenses for reimbursement of the interest rate of the loan, taken for housing improvement to the bank.

Heads of NIMC CJSC representations provided reports on working results of 2010 and the first quarter of 2011.

Speaking on behalf of Kursk NPP, Kursk NPP Deputy Director of Personnel Management and Social Questions Aleksander Apalkov noted: “One of Kursk NPP current problems is the lack of dwellings for its employees. This problem automatically creates a lot of other ones, first of all connected with the enterprise staff potential: due to the absence of dwellings we can not keep young specialists, who are to provide the plant’s future and the future of the branch on the whole; we can not provide them with a permanent registration, i.e. ironclad guarantees, etc. There is no hope to make the industry attractive for young people without solution of the housing problem”.

The meeting participants attended the construction site in Kurchatov city, where a dwelling for Kursk NPP employees was being constructed and got acquainted with the construction works process.

At the end of the meeting a summarizing of the meeting results was held, where the participants brought corrections to NIMC CJSC working plans, defined the order of the mortgage company employees’ actions according to the new program and discussed the current questions.
