Kursk NPP: a Meeting on the Issues of Education and Training Subdivisions Personnel Professional Training Has Been Held

On March 22-24, 2011there was held a meeting of Deputy Chief Engineers – Heads of Educational and Training Subdivisions (ETSs) of all ten operating nuclear plants of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, and Heads of Leningrad NPP-2 and Novovoronezh NPP-2 being constructed, Directorate of the floating nuclear thermal power plants being constructed, and the branch educational institutions as well.

The subject of the meeting discussion and experience exchange were the problems of training subdivision staffing with instructor personnel, the prospects of its status improvement and the quality of professional training and proficiency maintaining. 

“The perfection of the instructors’ training and proficiency maintaining is a very important and essential issue, - Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC Human Resources Department Deputy Director Nikolay Karelin commented on the work of the meeting. – In the prospects of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC challenges on personnel mass training at the NPPs being constructed in Russia and abroad, the role of the instructor is growing”.

Among the recommendations accepted there is the establishment of instructor’s wages due to the level of the maximal post of the personnel taught, the foundation of a school for trainers, organization of “Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC Best Trainer” contest etc.

At present power units Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Kursk NPP are in operation. Their capacity corresponds to the dispatch schedule.

The radiation background at Kursk NPP and in the adjacent territory corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
