November 13, 2012 – Kursk NPP Unit 3 was restarted after the end of the scheduled overhaul.
 
The overhaul program included replacement of Du-800 pipeline fitting, modernization of the emergency core cooling system (ECCS), overhaul of Generators 5 and 6 with modernization of the excitation system, etc.

Unit 3 restarting took place according to the requirements of safe operation.

Currently, Kursk NPP operates Power Units 1, 2, 3 and 4. The units work at the capacity rated by the dispatch schedule.
The radiation background at the nuclear power plant and the adjacent territory corresponds to the level of power units’ normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
