Kursk NPP: On April 16 power unit No.1 was connected to the grid after scheduled routine maintenance
On April 16, 2011 power unit No.1 of Kursk NPP was connected to the grid after scheduled routine maintenance.
The unit was put into operation in accordance with the requirements of the safe operation process procedure.
Power unit No.1 has been under repair since April 1, 2011. The repair included implementation of usual operational checks and standard volume of unit equipment routine maintenance.
At present, Kursk NPP operates power units Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 with the capacity, corresponding to the dispatch schedule.
The radiation background at the nuclear power plant and in the territory of its location corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural background values.
