On April 20, 2012 a task group for development and organization of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement of the nuclear power plant paid visit to Bilibino NPP.

The task group included: Konstantin Artemiyev, a Director of Trading and Commercial Dispatch Department of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, Valeriy Markelov, the first Deputy General Director of Atomenergosbyt OJSC, Andrey Nevolin, a leading expert of the Direction for Energy Inspection and Rate Setting of the Energy Efficiency Centre Ltd. of INTER RAO UES, and Alexander Gorlanov, an Adviser to Deputy General Director – Director for Marketing of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC.

During the visit, Farit Tukhvetov and Konstantin Artemiyev held two business meetings. The first one was dedicated to the issues of the development and organization of the activity for energy saving and energy efficiency improvement at Bilibino NPP, the second – to creation a network of management companies under the name ‘Atom-Housing’.

Within the frame of the business meeting, Valeriy Markelov noted that the market for housing management in nuclear cities was occupied by the management companies of various patterns of ownership, both municipal and private. “The main problem of these enterprises is low financial stability. The distrust of the population to these companies is related to the low level of services and debts availability for the consumed resources. That’s why out primary task is to occupy a definite segment of the market for the population to be able to receive the qualitative services,” he told.

Also during the visit, the task group visited the operating power units of the nuclear power plant, and made round of the industrial site of Bilibino NPP.

At present Bilibino NPP has operating power units 1, 3 and 4. Dispatch tasks are performed. The power unit 2 is under the planned overhaul.

The radiation background in the area of the plant and the adjacent territory corresponds to the level of power units’ normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.

On line detailed data on the radiation environment near nuclear power plants in Russia and other nuclear facilities are  provided on website russianatom.ru
