Scheduled Inspection of Equipment Operational Status and Maintenance Takes Place at Bilibino NPP

In the period of October 22 to 31, 2012, there was held a scheduled inspection of the operational status and maintenance of the electrical and thermal-mechanical equipment of Bilibino Nuclear Power Plant, a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC.

A committee of CJSC Power Technologies, including Committee Chairman Yuri Korniyenko, Head of the Territorial Centre, and committee members Alexander Zavedeyev and Nikolay Yermolin, Heads of the Territorial Centre of CJSC Power Technologies, arrived to Bilibino NPP to conduct the inspection.

The purpose of the inspection was to analyze the experience of the heat power engineering equipment operation and development of recommendations to improve operation of the electrical and thermal-mechanical equipment of Bilibino NPP.

During the inspection, the committee was guided by the requirements of the directive documents of RF Ministry of Energy (Power Engineering) and inter-branch norms and regulations.

At the final meeting with managers of Bilibino NPP, Chairman of the committee, Yuri Korniyenko, marked that according to the results of the technical audit, the audit team noted the high level of the production management organization and operation of the electrical and thermal- mechanical equipment, and managers’ qualification. “In general the equipment is functionally operative and is operated by the trained and skilled personnel in accordance with the requirements of the effectual regulatory and technical documentation!” explained Yuri Korniyenko and stressed the need to continue the improvement of the system of industrial safety management with the integration of the available body for supervision over the operation in order to improve the quality of production control functional at Bilibino NPP.

The results of the comprehensive inspection of Bilibino NPP by CJSC Power Technologies were filed under the report and handed to the management of Bilibino NPP.
