Emergency response exercises were done on April 28, 2015 at the Bilibino NPP with the participation of the day staff. Similar events are held at the Russian nuclear power plants routinely.

Practice skills for evacuation of the staff and interaction of security personnel the concerned agencies and the administration of the Bilibino NPP in case of an emergency situation related to the terrorist threat were trained. Staff of maintenance building took part in the event.

As it was noted by the exercises’ supervisor, Acting Chief engineer of the Bilibino NPP Ivan Zykov, the staff successfully coped with the tasks.

There are power units №1, 2, 4 in work at the moment at the nuclear power plant. The power unit №3 has been shut down and put into cold reserve. Planned average repair will start at the power unit on May 1. Dispatch tasks are being done.

The radiation background corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed natural background values at the plant and adjacent territory.
