Bilibino NPP Has Successfully Passed Comprehensive Inspection of Safety Status

From March 13 to 20, 2012 Bilibino NPP has passed comprehensive inspection of safety status.

It was held by Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC committee in accordance with the Program of Comprehensive Inspection of Safety Status of Bilibino NPP approved by General Inspector Nikolay Sorokin.

The inspection committee under the chairmanship of Deputy General Inspector of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC Igor Zonov have inspected the state of nuclear, radiation, technical, fire, environmental, and labour safety, conditions of the staff work places, and service areas.

During the inspection inspectors made a walk-round check of the staff work places of the main workshops, held an interview with the plant staff and checked the correctness of documentation.

At the final meeting with heads of the nuclear power plant Igor Zonov noted that in general standard requirements and directive documents of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC for nuclear, radiation, technical, fire, environmental, and labour safety are observed at the nuclear power plant.

Based on the results of comprehensive inspection an appropriate deed was filled.

The radiation background in the area of the plant and the adjacent territory corresponds to the level of power units’ normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
