The Beloyarsk NPP: the planned teachings on hydro-constructions has successfully passed

On September 12, 2014 scheduled complex exercises for working out actions of control departments, capabilities for localization and liquidation of consequences of the conditional contingency for waterworks at the Beloyarsk NPP.

The exercises were simulated in an interaction between specialized departmental formation and rescue services: communication and alarm systems, protection of public order and road transport service.

"For complex exercises an assessment can’t be set up, but it was found that the service coped with the task successfully, guidance leadership acted in a timely manner and were carried out correctly. According to the plan the teaching was given up to eight hours - they managed to deal with the task in four hours, "- said the engineer of the department of civil defense and emergency situations at the Beloyarsk NPP Leonid Smirnyagin.

These emergency exercises are held regularly at various sites of the Beloyarsk NPP to maintain skills and constant readiness of services to act in all situations.

The Beloyarsk nuclear power plant was entered into work in April, 1964. It is the first nuclear power plant in big nuclear power of the country, and unique with reactors of different types on one platform. The first power units of the Beloyarsk nuclear power plant with reactors on thermal neutrons of AMB-100 and AMB-200 are stopped in connection with resource development. In operation there is the unique power unit in the world with the reactor on fast neutrons of an industrial power level of BN-600. In the stage of construction there is a power unit with the reactor on fast neutrons of BN-800. Power units on fast neutrons are urged to expand significantly fuel base of nuclear power and to minimize radioactive waste at the expense of the organization of the closed nuclear and fuel cycle.

Current information about a radiation situation near the nuclear power plant in Russia and other objects of the nuclear industry is provided on a site www.russianatom.ru.
