The Beloyarsk NPP power unit number 3 with the reactor BN-600 resumed work after the completion of planned activities: refueling, technical service and repair of equipment on Wednesday in the evening, May 20, 2015. Planned works had been carried out at the power unit since April 7. Overhaul of generator №5 and average repair of low pressure cylinder of turbine №6 can be noted among the largest executed works.

Planned refueling, technical service and repair of equipment at the power unit №3 with the reactor BN-600 are carried out twice a year: in spring and in autumn.

The power unit №3 with the  reactor BN-600 is going to start working at nominal capacity on Friday, 22 May 2015.

The Beloyarsk NPP was put into operation in April 1964. It became the first NPP in the nuclear power industry of the country and it was the only one with reactors of different types at the same time. The first power units, which had been used at the Beloyarsk NPP, with reactors on thermal neutrons AMB-100 and AMB-200 were stopped because of working out. There is the only one in the world power unit in work with a fast neutron reactor of industrial power level BN-600. In preparation for energopusku Power unit with a fast neutron reactor BN-800 is being prepared for launch. Fast neutron power units serve for substantial extension of the fuel base of the nuclear power industry and for minimization of radioactive waste due to the closed nuclear fuel cycle.
