On May 30 the Beloyarsk NPP held in Sverdlovsk region Zarechniy city traditional ecological action "Blossoming City".

The event is held for the sixth year, this year it is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the atomic energy (start the world's first nuclear power plant in Obninsk ) and the 50th anniversary of Beloyarsk.

Youth and veterans organizations of the Beloyarsk NPP, city veterans, representatives of educational and cultural institutions, urban district administration took part in the promotion. They planted more than 6,000 seedlings roots of flowers in 10 beds and 30 trees on the boulevard Aleschenkova * lawns.

During the event, each participant had the opportunity to draw a fictitious "Wish Tree" or "Tree of Dreams". Posters with pictures decorated the place of the action.

It will be planted more than 6000 flower seedlings roots in other cities flowerbeds.

* Aleschenkova Boulevard was built with funds listed on the social development of the urban district Zarechniy in connection with the construction of the power unit №4 of the Beloyarsk NPP ( so-called "atomic billion"). Boulevard is located on the street named in honor of Peter Aleschenkova. This scientist and designer of the NIKIET, representative of Chief Designer at the Beloyarsk NPP construction and commissioning of the power units №1 and 2, the developer of reactors AMB-100 and AMB-200 (Large Peaceful Atom) of these units.

The Beloyarsk nuclear power plant is entered into work in April, 1964. It is the first nuclear power plant in big nuclear power of the country, and unique with reactors of different types on one platform. The first power units of the Beloyarsk nuclear power plant with reactors on thermal neutrons of AMB-100 and AMB-200 are stopped in connection with resource development. In operation there is the unique power unit in the world with the reactor on fast neutrons of an industrial power level of BN-600. In the stage of construction there is a power unit with the reactor on fast neutrons of BN-800. Power units on fast neutrons are urged to expand significantly fuel base of nuclear power and to minimize radioactive waste at the expense of the organization of the closed nuclear and fuel cycle.
