On April 16, at 5:10 p.m. the duty operator of the Department of Internal Affairs of Zarechny urban district (Sverdlovsk region) informed the Security Service of Beloyarsk NPP that an ice floe with fishermen on it had split off in the water area of Beloyarsk Reservoir in the vicinity of “Cheshuyki” recreation center.

In order to assist the rescuers of the city Rescue Station, the operational department of Beloyarsk NPP Security Service sent an air-cushion vehicle, which is involved in the protection of the nuclear power plant.

Nuclear scientists rendered a timely help: by joint efforts, all 36 fishermen were successfully evacuated from the split-off ice floe.
