Beloyarsk NPP: the March plan for electric power generation has been fulfilled by 103%
Power unit BN-600 of the Beloyarsk NPP was operated at the rated level and generated in March 452.94 kWh of electric power, amounting to 103% of the plan.
Installed capacity utilization factor in March amounted to 101.6 %.
In the large, from January 1, to April 1, 2011power unit BN-600 of the Beloyarsk NPP generated 1287,36 mln kWh of electric power, amounting to 100,8% of the target plan.
The radiation background in the area of the nuclear power plant location and in the adjacent territory corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural background values.
Beloyarsk NPP was put into operation in April of 1964. This is the first NPP in the nuclear power industry of the country and the only one with reactors of different types at the same site. The first power units of Beloyarsk NPP with the AMB-100 and AMB-200 thermal reactors were shut down because they had exhausted their potential. Beloyarsk NPP operates the unique power unit with a fast neutron reactor of industrial power level - BN-600. The BN-800 power unit with a fast neutron reactor is being constructed. The fast neutron power units serve for substantial extension of the fuel base of the nuclear power industry and minimization of radioactive waste due to the closed nuclear fuel cycle.
