On April 3 a delegation of the French Supreme Committee on transparency and reporting of nuclear safety issues made a visit to Beloyarsk NPP.

The delegation consisting of representatives of six boards - members of the Supreme Committee - visited the nuclear power plant, they were: a board of members of parliament, board of territorial committees for public awareness, board of environmental associations, board of operating organizations, board of trade unions and employees of the nuclear industry, and board of government bodies. The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Committee Henry Revol.

According to Henry Revol, the interests of the Committee include safety of nuclear power plants not only in France, but also throughout the world.

The aim of visiting the site of Beloyarsk NPP was the exchange of information on safe operation and construction of fast reactors experience, life extension of existing nuclear power plants, and the 4th generation reactor workout. “For us it’s a great honor to visit Beloyarsk NPP,” stressed Revol.

At the business meeting with the front office of Beloyarsk NPP, the representatives of the French side received information on operation of BN-600 reactor, measures undertaken within the framework of its lifetime extension, progress of construction and design features of the BN-800 power unit, and also the project of fast commercial reactor BN-1200.

During the visit the delegation members visited the operating power unit BN-600 and the construction site of the BN-800 reactor.

Beloyarsk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern, which operates all the nuclear power plants of Russia. The power unit with BN-600 fast neutron reactor of industrial power level is operated nowadays at Beloyarsk NPP as the unique in the world. The power unit with BN-800 fast neutron reactor is under construction now. The fast neutron power units are designed to significantly expand the fuel base of the nuclear power engineering and minimize RAW by means of closed NFC management.

The first Beloyarsk NPP power units with the thermal reactors of AMB-100 and AMB-200 type have been stopped due to resource exhaustion.
