Beloyarsk NPP: BN-600 power unit is operated at nominal capacity.
On February 9, 2011 Beloyarsk NPP: after completion of the repair works of electrical facilities, the BN-600 power reached the nominal level of capacity of 600 MW.
On February 5, 2011, according to the application filed to the power system dispatcher, the electric power of the power unit was reduced to the level of 380 MW.
The radiation background at Beloyarsk NPP and in the adjacent territory is not changed, corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
Beloyarsk NPP was put into operation in 1964. This is the first NPP in the nuclear power industry of the country and the only one with reactors of different types at the same site. The first power units of Beloyarsk NPP with the AMB-100 and AMB-200 thermal reactors have outlived their usefulness. Beloyarsk NPP operates the unique power unit with a fast neutron reactor of industrial power level - BN-600. The BN-800 power unit with a fast neutron reactor is being constructed. The fast neutron power units serve for substantial extension of the fuel base of the nuclear power industry and minimization of radioactive waste due to the closed nuclear fuel cycle.
