Beloyarsk NPP: 381.13 M kWh of electric power has been produced in February 2011

In February 2011, BN-600 power unit of Beloyarsk NPP produced 381.13 M kWh of electric power, which consisted 95.9% of the schedule.

Within a month, the power unit was operating at a nominal level of capacity, excluding the period from February 5 to 8, when its electric capacity was reduced to perform the repair of electrical equipment.

The utilization factor of maximum capacity (UFMC) for the month was equal to 94.53%.

Totally, in the period from January 1 to March 1, 2011, the production was equal to 834.4 M kWh of electric power or 99.7% of the scheduled task.

The radiation background in the area of Beloyarsk NPP location and in the adjacent territories was not changed in February, corresponds to the normal operation and natural background values.

Beloyarsk NPP was commissioned in April, 1964. This is the first NPP in the nuclear power industry of the country and the only one with reactors of different types at the same site. The first power units of Beloyarsk NPP with the AMB-100 and AMB-200 fast neutron reactors have been shut down and are prepared for decommissioning. Beloyarsk NPP operates the unique power unit with a fast neutron reactor of industrial power level - BN-600. The BN-800 power unit with a fast neutron reactor is being constructed. The fast neutron power units serve for substantial extension of the fuel base of the nuclear power industry and minimization of radioactive waste due to the closed nuclear fuel cycle.

Timely information about the radiation environment near Russian NPPs and other objects of the nuclear industry is available in the site www.russianatom.ru.
