Beloyarsk NPP Presents Rosenergoatom Concern’s Exposition at International Expo “INNOPROM-2012”

From 12 to 15 July, 2012 Yekaterinburg hosted the third international expo of innovations and industry “INNOPROM-2012”, where Beloyarsk NPP presented the exposition of Rosenergoatom Concern.

This year “INNOPROM” has received a status of the Federal Expo and one of the main industrial expositions of the country. This was stated in Yekaterinburg by the high-ranking guest of “INNOPROM” – Prime-Minister of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev. The head of the government not only examined the stands of the exhibition participants, but also met with Governor, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, and business representatives.

The site of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC and Beloyarsk NPP has become one of the most popular in the expo. The guests of “INNOPROM” showed a genuine interest to the future of the Russian nuclear power industry and prospects for the development of Beloyarsk NPP.

The newspaper “Fast Neutron”, where there was published an interview with the head of the “Project Office of the Reactor “BN-Commercial”, as well as CD-disks with a video film about the technology of fast neutron reactors of Beloyarsk NPP, were a success among the visitors.

Beloyarsk NPP was commissioned in April 1964. It’s the first nuclear power plant of the largest nuclear power industry of the country and the only one with different operating reactors at the same plant. The first Beloyarsk NPP power units with thermal reactors AMB-100 and AMB-200 have been stopped due to resource exhaustion. The power unit with BN-600 fast neutron reactor of industrial power level nowadays operates as the unique in the world. The power unit with BN-800 fast neutron reactor is at present under construction. Fast neutron power units are designed to significantly expand the fuel base of the nuclear power engineering and minimize RAW by means of closed NFC management.

On line data on the radiation environment near nuclear power plants in Russia and other nuclear facilities are provided on website www.russianatom.ru
