The power unit No. 3 of the Balakovskaya nuclear power plant was unloaded by operations of automatic equipment to 40% of capacity from the nominal on July 24, 2013 at 8 hours 15 minutes, because of defect of the electrotechnical equipment.

Unloading of the power unit was made without notes in full accordance with project algorithm and production schedules of safe operation. There are no deterioration of a radiation situation, violation of limits and conditions of safe operation in case of such damage to machinery,

Power units No. 1,2,4 continue to work without changes at the specified power level.

Work on defect elimination as been organized.
