On October 24, 2013 the presentation of the new project «Volga. From the source to the mouth» took place in the cultural and exhibition center «Raduga» of Balakovo.

He became one of the winners of an open tender of socially significant projects declared by Fund of assistance to development of municipalities «Association of the Territories of an Arrangement of Nuclear Power Plants» (ATR Nuclear Power Plant Fund).

Teachers of the city educational institutions  and also representatives of Committee on Education of administration of the Balakovo municipal area were invited to action.

Project «Volga. From the source to the mouth» has been developed by the Saratov regional public organization «Light of Art» which has been functioning in the city of nuclear scientists for six years. According to her head Svetlana Solovyeva, the idea to create the exhibition devoted to one of the greatest rivers of Russia, was born long time ago, but there were no funds for project implementation.

«At last, thanks to ATR Nuclear Power Plant Fund, we had an opportunity to realize the project which had been boring not for one year. Now walls of our showroom are decorated with exclusive photopanoramas in which the beauty of Volga from its source to the mouth is reflected. The subject of an exhibition is closely bound with ecology. In Balakov who costs on Volga, the largest producer of the electric power in the country is the Balakovo nuclear power plant acts. On the example of this neighbourhood we want to tell how modern technologies can peacefully coexist with Wednesday surrounding us. There is a wish to see Volga net, our project urges to protect it», – Svetlana Yurevna noted.

On day the of the presentation the head of interaction department told about the Balakovo nuclear power plant and about its cooperation with the cultural and exhibition center «Raduga» in respect of inhabitants ecological education of the «nuclear» city with authorities and the public of information directorate and public relations of the Balakovo nuclear power plant Natalia Bondarenko. The video movie about successes and achievements of the best nuclear station of Russia was shown to guests.

Further guests made excursion in showroom where employees of «Raduga» told, from where Volga originates why it called exactly so, about legends and the historic facts connected with this great Russian river. Exhibition «Volga. From the source to the mouth» on an idea of organizers will be visited by about 10 thousand school students of the city of Balakovo and the Balakovo area.

The fund of assistance to development of municipalities «Association of the Territories of an Arrangement of Nuclear Power Plants» (nuclear power plant Fund «ATP") which founders are JSC «Rosenergoatom» Concern and municipalities where nuclear stations are located, on summer of the current year declared carrying out an open tender of socially significant projects. The purpose of carrying out tender is to support initiatives of non-profit organizations on creation and maintenance of a comfortable social environment in the station cities and areas. Two Balakovo organizations became winners of tender directly: Balakovo institute of equipment, technology and management and regional public organization «Light of Art».
