On February 24, 2014, at 22:01 (MSK) the power unit № 2 of the Balakovo NPP on the basis of the recieved authorization of the JSC «Rosenergoatom» Concern was included in the grid after the scheduled maintenance and refueling of the reactor.

Heating and start-up of the power unit were made in accordance with the requirements of technological regulations. 

There are currently all four power units the Balakovo NPP in operation of total capacity 3450 MW, which carry the load in accordance with the dispatch schedule. 

Radiation situation on the territory of the station location is unchanged and corresponds to the natural long-term values, characteristic of the middle band.
