The Balakovo NPP: employers and industry leaders from trade unions came up to a common approach in assessing the working conditions for employees of nuclear power plants

The special assessment of the working conditions for employees of nuclear power plants has become one of the key themes of outbound permanent corporate meeting on social-labor and staff issues of the Concern "Rosenergoatom", which was completed at the Balakovo NPP on December 5.

The two-day meeting was attended by representatives of the State Corporation "Rosatom", the central office of the Concern "Rosenergoatom" NPPs in operation and under construction, their primary trade union organizations, subsidiaries and partner organizations - in total there were more than fifty people.

The need for the special assessment of working conditions in the branches of the Group is needed due to changes in the labor legislation of the Russian Federation. The purpose of evaluation is to provide objective information on the availability and levels of hazards in the workplace, as well as providing for employees guarantees and compensation for work in harmful and (or) dangerous working conditions.

Participants developed common approaches in the implementation of evaluation in strict accordance with the law, taking into account the maximum possible risks for employees, whose work is associated with exposure to ionizing radiation, in the active dialogue.

"The mechanism of the special assessment of working conditions is difficult. Both sides of the social partnership, who are employers and trade union leaders, find it necessary to understand and take into account all the nuances and peculiarities of providing it on the nuclear power plants. The outcome of the evaluation of each workplace is directly related to obtaining benefits and compensations, so it is important to ensure maximum objectivity in carrying out this procedure. We were able to come to a common denominator after listening to different opinions"- said the head of the meeting First Deputy General Director - the Director of Personnel Management, Social and Administrative Issues of the Concern" Rosenergoatom Jumberi Tkebuchava.

The participants also discussed the recommendations, approaches and the formation of staff reserve of the Group, the tasks to improve productivity, the results of the audit, unified wage system for operating nuclear power plants during the meeting.

A very interesting topic about introduction of automated information system for personnel management was aroused. Specialists of the Balakovo NPP, which has become the first one to work in this direction, shared positive experiences and possible risks beyond the project, which after entering into commercial operation will gradually be replicated to other stations of the Concern "Rosenergoatom".

Such meetings are held regularly once a quarter at Russian nuclear power plants.
