A two-day visit of Vladimir Servetnik, Deputy General Director – Director of Purchasing and Logistics of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, and Dmitry Tyukaev, Chief of the Department of Methodology and Category Management, to Balakovo NPP finished on November 16, 2012.

In August the structure of the Central Office of Rosenergoatom Concern underwent changes, as a result, instead of the Department, there was established a Service for Procurement and Logistics headed by Vladimir Servetnik. He set a task to make information visits to all nuclear power plants of Russia till the end of the year. Balakovo NPP has become seventh on the list.



During the visit, V. Servetnik held a meeting on the “Organization and Procurement, Formation of Contracts and Supervising the Implementation of Supplies for the Needs of NPPs”. The meeting was attended by Director of Balakovo NPP, Viktor Ignatov, Deputy Director for Generic Issues, Andrey Geraschenko, Acting Deputy Director for Capital Construction, Nikolay Meschaninov, as well as heads and specialists of field-specific branches of the plant – production and processing equipment agencies, capital construction offices, procurement centres and treasury, outage departments, building renovation and administrative departments.

Head of the Production and Processing Equipment Agency, Peter Gusev, in his report informed about how the procurement of Balakovo NPP was organized and on the implementation of Rosatom Production System in inventory storage facilities of the nuclear power plant. “Recently the involvement of the warehousing staff in the implementation of the production system grew significantly,” said P. Gusev. “This is promoted by the careful application of the personnel motivation system. Completeness with modern warehousing equipment and more comfortable, updated after repair storage sections greatly help in the work.”

Proposals made at the meeting at Balakovo NPP will be submitted for the consideration of the Concern’s management.
    
As part of the visit, the head of the new service made a walk-round check of the nuclear power plant visiting Unit 1, where currently the unique repair works on replacement of the large-sized equipment are carried out. During the walk-round check of inventory storage facilities of Balakovo NPP, Vladimir Servetnik examined the specialized technical equipment and outdoor storage areas for inventory items. Also visiting to the Public Information Centre of Balakovo NPP was included in the program.
