Balakovo nuclear power plant has successfully passed the inspection of the occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS).

It was held by a team of auditors of CJSC Klinsk Institute for Occupational Health and Safety OLC-Komplekt and Certification Association Russian Register.

The audit team assessed compliance of the occupational health and safety management system of Balakovo NPP with OHSAS 18001:2007 requirements (International Standard “Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems”), as well as implementation of the provisions of the continuous improvement in this area.

The auditors visited eighteen subdivisions of the plant associated with the stated scope of certification. They conducted surveillance, collection of objective evidences, interviewed the personnel and checked the status of documentation. As a result of four-day inspection, auditors found out two insignificant nonconformities.

    In the final document the audit team     noted that the occupational health and safety management system at Balakovo NPP was maintained and developed in accordance with the principle of the continuous improvement and that on the whole it was effective and complied with the requirements of the International Standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

The certificate of conformity of the occupational health and safety management system OHSAS 18001:2007 was issued to Balakovo NPP in December, 2011.
